Well-known local pianist & entertainer John Thomas has graciously agreed to be First Parish Truro’s Music Director for the 2024 summer season!
Our most recent church musician, John Lee, had intended to join us for the summer, but plans changed at the last minute that didn’t allow him to do so. John Thomas was an excellent fit during our first service on June 16th, and agreed to take the post for this season, as well! John Lee will still join the community for a jazz concert with Ken Field at 7pm on Sunday, August 18th, which will be a wonderful Friends of the Truro Meetinghouse event. But on Sunday mornings we will be delighted by the variety and beauty of John Thomas’ playing this summer.
John Thomas is a celebrated musician who has produced many excellent shows and concerts over the years, not only in Cape Cod but across the world. You can learn more about John via his website: https://johnwthomas.com/
And check out his original composition, “The Heavens Are Telling the Glory of God” as performed by The Middle Church Choir and Manhattan Brass! We don’t have such a setup in our little rural church, where you’re more likely to hear gospels, spirituals, hymns, or jazz, but it sure is cool to hear such a wonderful composition and celebrate John’s incredible talent:

Thank you, John, for joining us and edifying our community with your beautiful music!
