First Parish Truro is always so lucky to draw amazing musical talent! And Summer 2024 is no exception to that rule. We’ll have some incredible musicians joining us June through September!

Pianist John Thomas has leant his musicality to event spaces and organizations throughout the Cape and beyond. He also developed “Music Without Borders,” a music meditation series in which he pairs his incredible keyboard skills with other local musicians to forward the themes of serenity, peace, and beauty. He will join us as this summer’s Music Director each Sunday morning throughout the summer.

Vocalist Tracy Howerton’s resume includes the very impressive accolade of winning second place at Amateur Night at the Apollo Theater in NYC back in 2022, which you can read about here. He is a vocalist whose talents span nearly any genre, but he has a special love for gospel hymns and anthems. Howerton will be our musicians for three Sunday services this summer – our opening worship on June 16th, two weeks later on June 30th, and finally on September 8th at the end of the season.

Our past church musician, John Lee will also join our community for a jazz concert with Ken Field at 7pm on Sunday, August 18th, which will be a wonderful Friends of the Truro Meetinghouse event. But on Sunday mornings we will be delighted by the variety and beauty of John Thomas’ playing all summer long!
